Bury St Edmunds Community Choir

Join our friendly choir at Bury St Edmunds and sing your heart out. With no auditioning needed, you’ll instantly be part of our singing group with genuine people. While participating you’ll also help us to raise £1 million for charity through our fun fundraising events where you can let your hair down and be silly!

"Just give it a go. A chance to make new friends, fantastic opportunities to do something different. Help to raise money for worthwhile causes when we perform."

- Karen W

First time singers welcome

If you don’t have previous singing experience, it’s okay! All you need is a can-do attitude and we can teach you the rest -if you can talk, you can sing. Our professional, trained musicians will be with you every step of the way to help you improve every week.

Rest assured, you won’t ever sing on your own - it can be scary and overwhelming. So that’s why you’ll always sing with friendly people who can support you.

Find yourself again

With increasing loneliness and anxiety, the pressures of life can be hard on you. Our members understand hardships very well and you can find genuine support amongst the choir group. Find yourself again with help from our choir.

"Not only do you come out of the session with such a BRILLIANT BUZZ but weeks and months later, when you think about it, you get the ‘Afterglow’ and you smile all over again."

- Val Sample

About the Bury St Edmunds choir

Warm and compassionate are the words to describe our choir group at Bury St Edmunds. With great singers and a busy rehearsal room, we’ve got a wonderful atmosphere to sing in. Whether you’re a first timer or a regular choir member, you’ll be welcome with open arms.

"I have met a new group of friends, had fun, it is fantastic for your mental health. The songs we have learnt so far are brilliant and we all get very excited when we have to go to an event to busk. I would recommend joining to everyone because there is no judgment if you think you can’t sing. Best thing I have ever done for myself."

A message from your choir leader

My name is Andy Ingram and I am the Buskerteers Choir Leader for Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Braintree and Clacton.

I've been a professional musician for many years. I've travelled all over the world performing at many different shows, corporate events and weddings.

I'm very excited to welcome you into our choir and to take you on an amazing musical journey. We'll be learning songs and performing on stage together, and trying to raise as much money for charity as we can with our busking and performing.

I can't wait to meet you! Have a listen to my performance in the meantime.
