About the Rayleigh choir group

The Rayleigh choir is very warm and compassionate. We’re a lovely group of singers with a great sense of humour. It's a busy rehearsal room with a buzzing atmosphere so it's the perfect place to get into choir singing. You’ll be very well looked after, surrounded by kind people.

"I’d recommend everything... sharing our love of music with each other, making new friends and feeling part of something rather special. Raising money is always a great thing to do, too"

First-time singers welcome

If you don’t have previous singing experience, it’s okay! All you need is a can-do attitude and we can teach you the rest -if you can talk, you can sing. Our professional, trained musicians will be with you every step of the way to help you improve every week.

We know it can be scary to sing in front of people so that’s why we’ll never make you sing on your own. You’ll always sing in groups, with friendly people supporting you.

Escape your day-to-day

With increasing loneliness and anxiety, the pressures of life can be hard on you. Our members understand hardships very well and you can find genuine support in the choir group. Find yourself again with help from our choir.

"I joined Buskerteers to do something that is an essential part of my life, singing! To be able to do that and meet lots of great people and have a fantastically gifted, hilarious Maestro to boot is a win-win for me. I would recommend this choir to anyone, even if you think you can't sing. It's so rewarding on many levels. 5 Stars from me."

"I joined Buskerteers Choir for a confidence boost, to meet new people and to give myself something to do of an evening for 'me' time. Best decision I've made in a very long time."

A message from your choir leader

Thanks so much for coming to find out more about the Rayleigh Choir – My name is Andrew Small and I’m the choir leader. I’d love to invite you along to a free taster session so you can see what it’s really like. I’ll be waiting at the door to say hello when you arrive. I’ll introduce you to a few people, and together we’ll dive into some fun singing – no scary solos, no pressure, just the joy of making music as a group.

Most people who come for the first time worry they won’t know what to do or that they’ll stand out – but honestly, you won’t! Everything is taught step by step, and we all learn and laugh together.

You’ll come away feeling uplifted, with a few new friends and (hopefully!) a smile stuck on your face.

If you’ve got any questions before coming along, please don’t hesitate to ask – I know trying something new can feel a bit daunting, but I’ll be happy to chat.

I’d really love to see you at a rehearsal soon – why not come and give it a try?

Andrew Small
